Being in the military is one of the greatest sacrifices anyone can make. It’s not only about putting
your life on the line for your family or country; it’s about protecting a community and way of life
that often goes unacknowledged. The sacrifice our veterans make is priceless, and while we may never
fully repay them, we can ensure they are supported when they return home.
In 2020, I lost a dear friend, a fellow service member who felt abandoned by the very community he
swore to protect. While I was deployed, he made the heartbreaking decision to take his own life.
That loss is something I carry with me every day, and it is this pain that drives my mission.
This is why I created Foxtrot Oscar Victor (FOV), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting
veterans. FOV stands for "For Our Veterans," and it is my life’s work to ensure that no veteran ever
feels forgotten or alone. Whether it’s providing a listening ear, offering resources, or being a
source of support, I am here for my brothers and sisters in arms.
At FOV, we are a community. We are a family, united by a shared experience, committed to honoring
those we’ve lost and protecting those who remain. Our goal is to show veterans they are valued,
loved, and never forgotten. Together, we will prove to their families that their sacrifices were not
in vain, and we will continue to fight for those who fought for us.
I encourage you to reach out if you’re struggling, and if you’re doing well, reach out to someone
who isn’t. We are stronger when we stand together. For those we’ve lost, for those who still walk
beside us, and for the love we share as a community of veterans let’s show the world what "For Our
Veterans" truly means. I will never forget, and neither should you.
